Summer Reading 2012
Lately I have been really into mystery novels, thanks to one of the book clubs that I'm a part of. The book club is really neat because we are a group on Facebook of different ages and from all over the world, so we all bring really unique questions and ideas to the table. Only thing that would make it better is if we could all be sitting around drinking a glass of wine, eating and talking about the book. But any ways back to the books, and they are from the Bess Crawford Mysteries series by Charles Todd. So far there are only four and book club started with the 3rd book A Bitter Truth. The books are all set during World War 1 and Bess the main Character is a nurse and she seems to just fall into these strange events. The books are an easy read and stand on there own so you can start anywhere in the series. It also fits very well with Downton Abbey because all of the period clothing and detail is fresh in your head. The books are on amazon or barnes and noble depending on which you like better.

May's Birchbox
So I have come to realize that I really enjoy getting my birchbox in the mail each month. Not just because I like the products that come, but I love having fun mail instead of bills or bank statements. I was a little surprised when I collected the mail yesterday because the box wasn't its normal pink and I was a little worried that the wrong box got sent. Thankfully it was just one of their special boxes this ones theme was Gossip Girl and I must admit I do watch the show not for the substance of the show but as some mindless tv show and sometimes the clothes are really pretty. But let me show you what I received in my box for the month of May.
So far I have loved the headband and ordered more colors, and I love the gold nail polish. I haven't loved the perfumes that they have put in the boxes but maybe thats because I love my 4 go to scents and haven't changed them in 2 years. The note card is cute and I have already sent it off to a friend won't they be surprised. I haven't used the brush cleaner or the tinted lotion because I had two interviews last week and I didn't want to have some sort of rash on my face.

Busy Weekends
I don't know if its me but it seems like time has sped up again and I'm jamming my calendar full of things. But I'm not finding the time to do the things that I enjoy doing like reading, painting, and taking pictures. Or if there is time I'm so tiered I just want to sit on the sofa and zone out with mindless TV. Is this really what the rest of my life is going to look like? A rat race to make money and accomplish things, but for what gain if I can't do the things I enjoy. On Friday I threw all of my response abilities out the window and after I got home from work I just painted for I don't know how many hours. I'm still not finished but I will share a couple funny pictures that I took. It was so nice to just paint and not think about anything but color. But then my weekend ended up being super packed with activities from church planing for children to cinco de mayo party at the hunt club, to youth group for the kids in kensington. So today is catch up day on my calendar and getting ready for the rest of my week. Have a wonderful Monday

What a day
Man sometimes it seems like you can't win. We lost our beloved golden girl Casey last night, she fell sleep on the bed and never woke back up. Casey was our first rescue golden and our experience couldn't have been better, she was such the lady, and could wage her tail like no other dog I have had. Oh and she had this head tilt that get you to feed her or give water or even a pat on the head. She will be missed greatly and I'm very sad to have her go. As some of you know my family has had a rough couple of months with loses, so please just keep us in your prayers and send good thoughts our way .

Easter Egg Hunt in Kensington
This East was fabulous we went to Easter Sunday service for the first time in forever. We usually go to Easter vigil since that is the first Easter service plus its such an interesting service b/c it starts in darkness then half way through turns into full blown Easter with the flowers. But this year was great we set up an Easter egg hunt for the children of the church and they had a blast finding the eggs. The Easter bunny was also pretty good to me and I got these sweet metallic topsiders.

Slacker
Oh goodness I have totally been slacking on my blog. Sometimes I feel like there are so many other fun things to be doing. Lets see last week I went for a lovely walk in Manayunk, it was the first time that I had really spent any time there other then to walk through during the 3 Day breast Cancer walk. It was also a time to catch up with an old friend and talk about plans for the future and where I'm headed these days. So I told her about applying to grad school at Drexel to get my Masters in Arts Administration and all the plans that I have after getting that degree. But I have to interject with this good news, I have an interview today for the program which is pretty amazing since the program only take 20 or so candidates. So fingers crossed. So I'm leaving you with images from Manayunk.
